Japanese language course: MISJ NOVICE PROGRAM LEVEL 4

Learn the essential concept named “APS.” It will make you a little more accessible to natural conversations.

What you’ll learn
Finish the NOVICE PROGRAM and prepare for the intermediate-level lessons.
The new concept APS (Applicable Sets) includes four types of APS: VERB APS, イADJECTIVE APS, ナADJECTIVE APS, and NOUN APS.
Various expressions based on APS such as “～, so I guess,” “～. so I think,” and “～, so I heard or so it was written.”
Learn various expressions based on APS, such as “Why & Because” conversation and another way of POLITE expressions, which implies speakers’ feelings.
Brief introduction of COLLOQUIAL expression and another way to write sentences, both also based on APS.
How to talk with ELDERs, SUPERIORs, or OUTSIDERs: HONORIFIC and HUMBLE expressions.
Learn about 30 new 漢字（かんじ）and new ways of reading already learned 漢字.

Requirements
・Basic Japanese language listening ability. Although critical explanations are given in English, lessons go on mainly in Japanese, which is supposed to be understandable for those who have finished learning up to MISJ NOVICE PROGRAM LEVEL 3.
・Can read basic Japanese characters, at least ひらがな,カタカナto read review materials provided after each lesson.
・Familiar with 「DICTIONARY FORM」, 「ますFORM」, 「てFORM」and 「ないFORM」.
・English reading ability. Review materials, except for reading materials, are written in English.
・「漢字（かんじ）」reading ability is not essential.
・MISJ is a unique learning method. And it is designed to learn everything systematically. So, when you study for the first time, it is highly recommended to watch the videos in order, without jumping around to random topics.

Description
This is the last of four levels of the MISJ NOVICE PROGRAM, the most suitable course for those who have finished MISJ NOVICE PROGRAM LEVEL 3.

The main purpose of this course is to let students learn the new concept “APS” based on 「DICTIONARY FORM」, 「てFORM」and 「ないFORM」. Therefore, all the previous courses are the preparation for this course.

Even if you are new to MISJ, if you are familiar with those forms, this is the right course.

You also learn how to choose and use three types of spoken expressions: FORMAL, POLITE, and COLLOQUIAL. It is essential knowledge you have to master if you want to work for Japanese companies or work with Japanese people in the future.

You can download the review materials such as review sheets, lists of patterns & extra vocabulary, one reading material, and the audio material corresponding to the reading material at the end of each lesson.

Suppose you are not confident in particle usage, making Japanese sentences, and handling them in conversations. In that case, I recommend starting your brush-up study with the MISJ WELCOME PROGRAM SECTION 2.

Suppose you are not confident in making and using 「てFORM」 based expressions, I recommend starting your brush-up study with the MISJ NOVICE PROGRAM LEVEL 2.

Suppose you are not confident in making and using 「ないFORM」 based expressions, I recommend starting your brush-up study with the MISJ NOVICE PROGRAM LEVEL 3.

Who this course is for
This is the course prepared for those who have finished learning the MISJ WELCOME PROGRAM and the NOVICE PROGRAM LEVEL 1 & 2 ＆3. And for those
Willing to understand more precisely the Japanese language and background culture.
Willing to achieve or improve creative speech and writing ability or fluency in speech.
Willing to study the grammar necessary to pass JLPT N5 and N4 efficiently and effectively. To focus on passing exams, skip the practicing parts and read the review materials.
