This course is designed to teach you a wonderful new skill on the ukulele, playing songs with chord melody techniques. What this means essentially is playing songs as solo instrumentals on the ukulele, in a full, satisfying and harmonious way. How this works is understanding how to place the notes of the melody in such a way that uses the other underlying notes of the chords to produce harmonies that accompany the melody line. This is a very rewarding way of playing the ukulele and not to be confused with strumming or Fingerpicking patterns, which are mainly used as vocal accompaniment, this is completely different because you are playing the full melody line of the song with harmonies.If you already know the basic ukulele chord shapes , this will help tremendously whilst studying this course. We will be learning these new techniques using tablature ( tabs for short) which will enable you to understand the notes of the melody without the need to learn formal , traditional music notation.This course will open up a whole new world of ukulele playing for you which I know you will find fascinating and extremely enjoyable to play.
