Description
This is a course for people who have mastered the basics of A-Level Maths (UK Spec) and want to aim for an A*. Getting an A* in A Level Maths is tough, and involves not only knowing the content well, but also being prepared for the challenging ways it is assessed in exams.

In this course we’ll work through the very hardest questions that have come up in past papers, and learn how to put the insights from these into practice. Each topic has a linked worksheet so that you can put everything you’ve learned straight into practice.

This course isn’t really suitable for students studying International A-Levels as the structure and topics (particularly at the hardest end) are just very different!

To make this course I went through every single past paper from all major exam boards to look for patterns on where the most challenging questions came from. Based on this, I created sections on the following topics

Pure: Integration – In this section we look at all the most challenging integration techniques, and the most common ways they come up.

Pure: Long Questions – Sometimes there are single questions worth up to 10 marks. These can be really daunting, so in this section I show you how to break these down into manageable chunks.

Pure: Modelling – Often the toughest questions involve relating pure techniques to real work situations. In this section we focus on differential equations and trigonometry.

Pure: Proof – Proof questions are often the ones that get the lowest marks nationally. In this section I show you how to approach proof by contradiction, and other challenging techniques.

Pure: Multi-Topic Questions – Some of the toughest questions in recent years have involved using a combination techniques from different parts of the course. In this section I show you how to do this effectively.

Mechanics: Moments and Forces – Often the last question on a mechanics paper involves a rod inclined at an angle. These questions are often high mark (8 – 10) and challenging. In this section I give a clear structure you can use in all of them.

Mechanics: Projectiles and Trigonometry – Occasionally a projectiles question turns into a pure trigonometry problem. You need to be prepared for these, and in this section I’ll help you get there.

Mechanics: Connected Particles – Some mechanics questions involve using almost every technique you’ve learned – forces, friction, components, suvat, etc. When there are connected particles this can be especially challenging. In this section we work through lots of examples.

Statistics: Pure Techniques in Statistics – Statistics questions sometimes include techniques from pure maths, such as integration and logarithms. This can come as a shock, so we work through examples in this section so you can see how to approach them.

Statistics: Other Hard Statistics Questions – The last section works through some of the weird and wonderful stats questions that have bamboozled students over the last few years.

The course is made specifically for people studying a UK exam board (Edexcel, OCR, AQA, MEI), but could be fun and useful for anyone else who wants to learn some challenging maths.

This course comes with

· A printable Udemy certificate of completion.

· Support in the Q&A section – ask me if you get stuck!

I really hope you enjoy this course!
