What you’ll learn
This course bridges the gap between Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. It focuses on simplifying numeric and algebraic expressions to build a strong Algebra foundation.
Topics: Number Systems, Order of Ops, Translating Expressions, Substitution, Combining Like Terms, Distributive Property, Simplifying Expressions, & Properties.
Students will be able to order and compare numbers as well as classify whether they are integers, rational, or real numbers.
Students will be able to understand the algebraic properties and apply them to simplifying Algebraic expressions.
Understanding these topics will help with everything that comes next in Algebra because future topics incorporate and build on these fundamental concepts.

Requirements
Already have taken Pre-Algebra. This course is meant to prepare you for the transition to Algebra 1.

Description
This is a mini-course reviewing the foundational topics which are a review of Pre-Algebra and the first chapter of Algebra 1. This is meant to help students entering an Algebra 1 course to review the basics that will build a strong foundation for everything that comes later in the course.

Use this course to brush up on your skills so you can hit the ground running in Algebra 1!

Each topic includes a video lesson & practice “quiz” with answer explanations.

The idea is for you to start by watching the lesson. Then try the practice quiz to test your understanding. When you click on a quiz answer, you’ll see either a hint about why that is not correct or a detailed explanation of why it’s the correct answer.
